High school can be filled with a rollercoaster of emotions, trying find who you are, what you want to do, and how you'll spend the rest of your life. If we’re lucky, we have someone to guide us or atleast to follow footsteps. Senior Andrew Mitchell has both, his mother.
“Before my mom passed away she always told me not to give up.” Mitchell said. “She's my inspiration, i want to live for her.”
Being an athlete has made a turn in Mitchells life, realizing that it's more than just a game.
“Athletics has shown me hard work and leadership” Mitchell said. “I want to be the first in my family to go big, i want to make my family proud, especially my mom.”
Making memories on and off the field with his teammates created the passion of playing ball, although there is doubtful moments.
“I have doubts sometimes to the point where i want to give up,” Mitchell said. “Not only preparing for college but also becoming an adult is a lot more work than thought.”
Mitchell hopes to follow his mothers footsteps and attend University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas to become part of the law enforcement. Wherever he ends up, his mother will always be by his side.
