When we were younger, our dreams to become high school seniors and graduate seemed so far away yet here we are and for some, like Senior Madison Stout, that dream is coming too fast.
“I’ll really miss being part of a team and creating new memories every chance we get” Stout said.
Stout has been on varsity soccer since freshman year and captain the past year, volleyball since sophomore and is student councils parliamentarian.
“I wish I can go back to freshman year and just start high school all over again to re-experience everything,” Stout said. “I’m extremely nervous for the real world, but time never stops.”
With volleyball and football season coming to an end, and graduation seems to only get closer, Stout admits she’s not ready for this teenage dream to end.
“The thought of losing people kind of hurts, but those who I truly mean something to will stick around forever.” Stout said.
Losing connection is not the only part of Stout’s concern, but it’s also being away from her family that hits her the most.
“My Mom and I are best friends. Everything I do is for her.” Stout says. “Realizing by this time next year I won’t be living at home, let alone in San Antonio, hits me tremendously hard.”
Stout will be the first in her family to graduate high school. And after high school she will be headed to Concordia University in Austin, Texas where she will major in nursing.
