Being a star player can sometimes be the hardest part about high school, always having people watch over your every move may be a pain at times, for Senior Damian Lopez it's helped him more than annoyed him.
“Coming into High School i thought it would be very difficult” Lopez said. “As a senior, i get scared thinking about the future.”
Some students have not realized after this year there's no more help but for lopez, it's all he thinks about.
“I wish i was still a freshman “ lopez said. “You’re on your own after this, not having anyone to get on you so, I want to thank Mrs.Gates, for always helping me get through the hardest parts, you're like a second mother to me.”
Being an athlete helped Lopez prepare for the real world, learning discipline, and realizing not everything's a game.
“High school football has been no joke, especially being quarterback” Lopez said. “ it taught me discipline and hard work.”
Lopez hopes to stay home for college and major in criminal justice and of course, play ball if its meant to be.
“I'm really sad about leaving high school.” Lopez said “if i can give any freshman any advice it would be; don't rush everything, live in the moment, it ends faster than you think.”
